Basic Life Support Course

Life is Why.

Infant CPR Cropped (2)United Community Services is offering the American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) Course which trains participants to save lives of victims in cardiac arrest through high-quality cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR).  BLS is the foundation for saving lives after cardiac arrest.

This video-based, instructor-led course teaches both single-rescuer and team basic life support skills. It is designed for healthcare professionals and other personnel who need to know how to perform CPR and other basic cardiovascular life support skills.

BLS students will learn rescue techniques for adults, children, and infants. Once the training material is completed, the student is required to pass adult and infant skills tests, and a written exam.  The current recommended timeline for renewal of the BLS course completion card is every 2 years.  Students are encouraged to periodically review their Provider Manual and practice CPR and AED skills whenever possible.

  • The course is offered monthly, provided a minimum number of 6 students are enrolled.
  • The $75 fee includes the BLS Provider Manual and a pocket mask. Payment is non-refundable and must be made at the time of enrollment.

The deadline for registration is one week before the scheduled class date.  If minimum enrollment is not met, participants will automatically be enrolled in the next scheduled class.  If that date does not work for them, registrants will be given the option of a refund or enrollment in a future class.
